Tohono O’odham Community College admits students with an “open door policy,” meaning we accept everyone who applies. We encourage all students to further their education.

We offer a tuition waiver to all Native Americans enrolled in federally recognized tribes in the United States of America. Non-native or non-enrolled native students will receive our tuition rate of $36 per credit hour. Tuition, fees, and refunds are subject to change.

Once an online application is submitted, we will provide additional requirements for specific programs, such as Adult Basic Education (ABE), General Education Development (GED), High School Equivalence (HSE), College Credit Pathway (CCP), Dual Enrollment, Apprenticeship, etc.

Disclaimer: TOCC is not a Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) approved school. Therefore, we cannot accept non-immigrant students for regular admissions because we are not certified under the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

Step-by-Step Application Process

1. Please submit an online application before the admissions deadline.

  • 2026 Fall Semester: August 7, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. (AZ Time)
  • 2027 Spring Semester: January 4, 2027, at 5:00 p.m. (AZ Time)
  • 2027 Summer Session: May 17, 2027, at 5:00 p.m. (AZ Time)

2. Once you’ve filled out your TOCC-SCAC online application for admission, please upload the following required documents to complete your application:

    Proof of Tribal Enrollment

    • If a Native American student, submit one of the following:
      • Tribal ID Card
      • Certificate of Indian Blood (CIB) and State-issued ID

    Proof of Residency

    • If a non-native American student (or non-enrolled native student), submit one of the following:
      • Driver’s License or
      • State-issued ID

    Proof of High School Completion or Equivalent

    • Submit one of the following:
      • Official High School Transcripts with Graduation Date indicated
      • Official GED Transcripts with Graduation Date indicated
    • If you have earned a college degree from another accredited institution of higher education external to TOCC, we can accept an official college transcript in lieu of the above documents. The official transcript must indicate your major and graduation date (conferred date).
    • Special Note: If you plan to apply for Federal Financial Aid, you must also submit an official high school transcript to complete your TOCC Financial Aid profile.
    • To be considered official, all transcripts must be sealed and sent directly from the institution. Any opened, unsealed, or hand-delivered transcripts submitted will be considered unofficial.
    • If e-transcript services are available, please submit them to admissions@tocc.edu. Otherwise, the transcript must be mailed to the address below.

    Proof of Name Change

    • If your submitted documents have a difference in names, please also submit proof of name change. That could be one of the following:
      • Court Order in its entirety
      • Marriage License or Divorce Decree

    Transcript Evaluation

    If you’re a degree-seeking student and you want your college credits evaluated for transfer, you must submit an Official Transcript from the previous college(s) you attended to the Admissions Office. The transcript must be sealed and sent directly from the institution to be considered official. Any opened transcripts will be considered unofficial.

    Acceptance Status

    • If you do not receive an email regarding your acceptance status within five to seven business days, please contact the Admissions Office immediately.

    Required Use of Social Security Number and Student ID Number

    Social Security Cards

    TOCC is required to collect the Social Security numbers of all students who are US citizens, resident aliens, or non-citizens (who have been issued a Social Security Number) on the Application for Admission, all local state or federal student financial aid applications and forms, and any forms required for college employment.

    Student ID Cards

    All admitted students will receive a student identification number. Student ID cards can be requested via the form off to the right.

    Privacy of Student Records

    TOCC complies with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) of 1974. This act was designed to protect the privacy of educational records, to establish the rights of students to inspect and review their educational records, and to provide guidelines for the correction of inaccurate or misleading data through informal and formal hearings.

    Students have the right to file complaints with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act Office concerning alleged failures by the institution to comply with this Act.

    Right to Withhold Information

    Tohono O’odham Community College hereby designates categories of student information as public or directory information. The college may disclose such information for any purpose at its discretion. Public or directory information includes the student’s name, address, telephone number, date of birth, major field of study, classification status (freshman, sophomore, full-time, part-time), participation in officially recognized college activities and sports, weight and height of members of athletic teams, dates of attendance, degrees, honors, awards received, and most recent previous educational agency or institution attended by the student.

    The college maintains a closed (unpublished) student directory. In addition, currently enrolled students may instruct the College not to disclose public or directory information for any purpose under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974. To withhold disclosure, written notification must be received by the Tohono O’odham Community College Admissions and Registration Office (prior to the end of drop/add for each semester concerned).

    Tohono O’odham Community College will not release any public or directory information unless written authorization is given by any student who specifically requests the withholding of public or directory information.
