At Tohono O’odham Community College (TOCC), our Disability Resource Team is committed to coordinating support for students with disabilities in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 504. Our goal is to ensure you have full access to TOCC classes and activities.

Getting Started

Initiate the Process: It all begins with you. If you need support, reach out to start the process with our Disability Resource Team. We’ll collaborate to identify how we can best support your academic journey.

Personalized Services: All support is tailored to your specific needs. We determine accommodations on an individual basis, ensuring they align with your requirements.

No Cost: All services and accommodations provided through our Disability Resource Team are available to you at no cost.

Disability Testing

If you suspect you have a disability but are unsure, we recommend contacting your primary healthcare provider. They can assist you in obtaining possible testing or refer you for further evaluation.

How to Access Support

Step 1: Reach Out
If you need accommodations, the first step is to email our Accommodations Coordinator, Rene Garciaguirre, to express your needs.

Step 2: Submit Documentation
Prepare and submit documentation that explains your disability, such as medical records or your most recent Individualized Education Plan (IEP) from high school.

Step 3: Meet with Us
We’ll arrange a meeting to discuss suitable accommodations tailored to your needs. Our team will also work with your instructors to explore feasible options.

Step 4: Implementation
Once we finalize your accommodations, we’ll communicate them to your instructors to ensure everything is implemented smoothly.

Step 5: Ongoing Support
Stay connected with us to provide feedback on your accommodations. We’ll conduct regular check-ins to ensure their effectiveness and make any necessary adjustments.
